Be Willing To Dance Your Own Dance

Welcome to my website! I hope you’re here because you love stories as much as I do and because you want to share stories with young people and help them to learn and become the best versions of themselves that they can be. I hope that together we can enjoy the power of books and stories and learn something about the world and about each other.

My picture book, Alfred, is about accepting yourself and being yourself even if others don’t encourage you. I believe that learning who we are and becoming the person we choose to be are the fundamental tasks that face us all – young or old. It’s not always easy to have faith that you are the person you were intended to be and to accept that person. It’s not always easy to be brave and develop into the person you want to be.

It’s just a little picture book with a big message. When Alfred, a moose, decides to learn to dance, he is told, for a variety of reasons, that he cannot dance. Each time a reason is given, Alfred meets that obstacle, and he finally demonstrates that he is a dancer, even if he doesn’t follow the same steps as others.

We can be different people at different stages of our lives. I hope that you understand the person you are meant to be today and that you have people in your life who will encourage you to be that person. Be willing to dance your own dance, just like Alfred!
